The TEAM Ceramics Laboratory is located on the ground floor of the UMBC Engineering Building in room 008-2. The laboratory includes a small hood, considerable bench space and sufficient resources for 3D printers, sintering furnaces, sample production, optical characterization, etc.
Key Equipment:
Bruker D6 Phaser Diffractometer:
X-ray generator 600W with a Cu Kα X-ray source
Variable divergence slit assembly
Powder diffraction stage, single position, with rotating sample holder
Software: DIFFRAC.MEASUREMENT CENTER, DIFFRAC.EVA, DIFFRAC.TOPAS, CrystalDiffract, CrystalMaker
The diffractometer is available and free for UMBC researchers to learn more about their materials. Contact Professor Bowman for more information.
