The Laboratory

The TEAM Ceramics Laboratory is located on the ground floor of the UMBC Engineering Building in room 008-2. The laboratory includes a small hood, considerable bench space and sufficient resources for 3D printers, sintering furnaces, sample production, optical characterization, etc.

Key Equipment:

Bruker D6 Phaser Diffractometer:

X-ray generator 600W with a Cu Kα X-ray source

Variable divergence slit assembly

Powder diffraction stage, single position, with rotating sample holder

Software: DIFFRAC.MEASUREMENT CENTER, DIFFRAC.EVA, DIFFRAC.TOPAS, CrystalDiffract, CrystalMaker

The diffractometer is available and free for UMBC researchers to learn more about their materials. Please review this info to prepare for XRD. Contact Professor Bowman for more information or with questions.
